Stavanger / Rotterdam, 15 January 2026 – HAVN Capital (“HAVN”), a specialist private equity investor focused on the energy transition, has signed an agreement to acquire a majority stake in Spares in Motion B.V. (“Spares in Motion”),  a leading independent wind turbine spare parts provider/seller.

Headquartered in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, Spares in Motion supports wind turbine owners and operators worldwide in maintaining and extending the lifespan of their assets. By sourcing and supplying high-quality wind turbine spare parts and critical components, the company helps customers reduce downtime, improve turbine performance and support more circular and cost-efficient wind energy operations.

Spares in Motion’s solutions cover new, used, repaired and refurbished parts, as well as full wind turbines. Built around circular-economy best practices, owners and operators can extend the life of their turbines and make smarter use of scarce materials. Independent analysis, conducted in partnership with Spares in Motion, indicates that refurbishment of key components can reuse a large share of materials and reduce up to 80% of CO₂ emissions versus manufacturing new parts – reinforcing the role of circular supply chains in decarbonising the wind sector.

The investment is fully aligned with HAVN’s strategy of backing specialist companies that enable the energy transition by improving the reliability, efficiency and sustainability of critical infrastructure. HAVN Capital focuses on lower mid-market businesses across Northern and Western Europe that drive decarbonisation through renewable energy, electrification and energy efficiency solutions.

Tomas Hvamb, Managing Partner and Co-Founder at HAVN Capital, said: Spares in Motion has built a unique platform at the heart of the global wind aftermarket, seamlessly connecting owners and operators with the spare parts they need. We see a clear opportunity to support the team in scaling their international reach, expanding refurbishment and circular solutions, and further professionalising spare parts management for the wind industry. This partnership fits squarely within HAVN’s mission to back businesses that make the energy system more reliable and sustainable – in this case by helping keep existing wind assets running longer, at lower cost and with a smaller carbon footprint.”

Marc Huijzer and Jochem Sauer, Managing Directors and Founders at Spares in Motion, said:

“HAVN’s investment will enable Spares in Motion to accelerate its international expansion, by leveraging its product expertise and strengthening its independent, trusted supplier network to better meet customer needs and the growing demand for a more sustainable renewable industry. The partnership marks an important step in Spares in Motion’s growth strategy, providing a strong foundation for future development.”

Together with the founders and broader Spares in Motion team, HAVN will support investment in the company’s technology, data and digital procurement tools, enabling customers to better plan inventory, manage obsolescence and access a broader global supplier base. The partnership will also focus on accelerating refurbishment offerings, strengthening the company’s international footprint (including its presence in North America and key European wind markets) and deepening collaboration with OEMs, independent service providers and asset owners.

The transaction is being completed with the support of Federated Hermes Private Equity as co-investor and Ambienta Credit as debt financing provider, reflecting a shared conviction in the long-term growth of circular solutions in the wind sector and the opportunity to back specialist, lower mid-market companies advancing the energy transition.
